For this week’s art experience, we had to do a photowalk. There was multiple photowalk guides to chose from, so I chose to follow Crysta Tim. For her route, she took us to the outdoor shopping center outside of the bookstore, the bottom floor of the student union, and finally to the H2O fountain in front of Brotman Hall. The overall tour was cool to do because of the sights we got to see. I have been to the areas that she took us to; however, this time I was able to actually pay attention to the objects that were there. Usually, I just walk through these areas without paying attention to the art that is there. Since we had to take pictures this time, however, I noticed that there are cool pieces of art around campus. For example, the rock in the middle of the student union is something that I have never paid attention to. The rock is like a waterfall, but not a lot of water going through it. The shopping center was cool to look at too. There are plenty of students there, so it does feel like you are at a shopping center rather than a university. If you stop and look around at the shopping center, you can see that there are a lot of stuff that you can buy. It was also cool to see how students interact with the shopping center, which was interesting to see. The walk to the H2O fountain was also cool. I have never taken the root that we took, so it was really nice to see a new path. Overall our guide was really cool. She took us to a busy place, which was cool because it allowed us to see how the university functions. In the end, the tour was a fun experience.
